QUEZON CITY, Philippines – At Eastwood Mall Open Park, Sony Music Entertainment Philippines Incorporated launched the three amazing voices of Allison Tanner, Lara Maigue and Jam Valdes as the Opera Belles on Friday, March 4, 7pm.
Despite the drizzling in the open venue, the three belles were like super heroines that joined forces as they exuded their singing prowess to attract the audience to listen to their brand of music, a new genre that will soon hit the airwaves.
Opera Belles is the country’s first-ever young female pop opera group. The soothing and harmonious music these three ladies create, young women or even all sexes, for all ages to listen to and appreciate.
Their versions of the songs ‘Lovestory’, ‘Only Hope’ and ‘Sundo’ were uniquely interpreted done in opera overtures with some tweaking that produced an opera-like music with a twist of pop—something that is hip.
Allison started singing when she was just eight and later on she enrolled at the University of the Philippines Extension Program where she was exposed to opera and classical music. Jam on the other hand, was already singing at age seven, but not into classical music, yet with her love for music, she further honed her musicality when she joined Repertory Philippines back in high school. Lara comes from a musical family, since her parents are musicians-music professors; she also studies Music Education at the University of the Philippines.
Given the backgrounds of these young promising female sensations, Opera Belles created a new direction for people to love music on a different level.
Grab a copy of their self-titled debut album under Sony Music and catch them live again on March 11, a Friday at Venice Piazza, in McKinley Hill.
